Actor and comedian Pat Finn, known for his roles in “The Middle,” “Seinfeld,” and “Friends,” has died.
His family announced his death on Dec. 24, according to Deadline. The outlet reported he died on Dec. 22 at his home in Los Angeles after a three-year battle with cancer.
He was 60 years old.
Finn was best known for his role as Bill Norwood in the ABC sitcom “The Middle.” He appeared on the show from 2011 till the show’s end in 2018.

Finn appeared in several sitcoms in the 90s, including as Joe Mayo in “Seinfeld” and in “Friends” as the boyfriend of Courtney Cox’s character Monica, Dr. Roger. He also had recurring roles in “The George Wendt Show” and “Murphy Brown.”
According to a statement from Finn’s rep obtained by the New York Post, Finn was diagnosed with bladder cancer in 2022. His rep said in the statement that the cancer had returned and metastasized.
“He was a warrior in every sense of the word,” the statement read.
He is survived by his wife of 35 years, Donna, and their three children, Cassidy, Caitlin and Ryan.
“Dad… you were and are a role model and an inspiration to everyone you met. I tried to think of a word to describe you, but no word could ever do it justice. You are Pat Finn,” her post said in part.
“I’ve never met a single person who had a bad thing to say about my dad,” the post continued. “I feel like the luckiest person in the world that I got to call you my dad.”
Comedian Jeff Dye also posted a tribute on X, with a photo of the two of them.
“I don’t like to be the guy who post pics with celebrities that pass. But this guy wasn’t just a celebrity to me. He was a friend,” Dye said in the post. “One of the best dudes I knew with a PERFECT sense of humor. I love you Pat Finn and I’ll see again in the after , we can sing together and shake our heads about all the meannes in the used to be.”
Finn attended Marquette University in 1987, where he met Saturday Night Live legend Chris Farley. According to People, the two became roommates and performed together in the renowned comedy troupe Second City.
Finn also appeared in episodes of countless television shows, including “Curb Your Enthusiasm,” “2 Broke Girls,” “Wizards of Waverly Place,” and “The Goldbergs.”
