A tragic holiday outing ended in heartbreak after a 16-year-old girl lost her life in a devastating crash on a Tasmanian highway.The teenager, Adasyn Wood Savin from New South Wales, was visiting Tasmania during her school break when the all-terrain vehicle she was riding on was struck by a pickup truck on the Murchison Highway near Rosebery. The collision occurred late Saturday afternoon and proved fatal.
A 38-year-old family friend who was also on the ATV died at the scene. Despite immediate efforts by passersby to provide medical assistance, both victims could not be saved. The pickup truck driver was unharmed and routine testing is being conducted as part of the investigation.Police have confirmed that inquiries into the cause of the crash are ongoing and a report will be prepared for the coroner.
